In some places he was called Tiwaz and was associated with the Roman God, Mars, the Celtic God Nadu, as well as the Indian God, Mitra. Tyr was the original God of war, and the precursor of Odin, much in the same way that Mars was the God of war in Rome, and once held a higher place than Jupiter."
Týr (/tɪər/; Old Norse: Týr tyːr) was the Æsir God of justice, law, and war, and the son of the All-Father, and by far the bravest Norse god in Norse mythology. He is the central character in Rosario + Vampire: Winter's Coming.
Týr was said to be the son of Odin and Hroðr, and was the cause of binding of Fenrir by sacrificing his right hand, along with the possbility of being former Norse leader of the Æsir before Odin. Due to this, it is possible he was mostly likely the child of the Hymir. It's also possible he could had been the consort of the goddess, Zisa.
However, long ago when Odin was greatly paranoid of Ragnarok, which involves the giants, mainly Fenrir (hence of his binding). However, as the god of justice, Týr found this unjust and helped the giants escape. However, due to this, he was forced to flee Asgard.
At one stage the gods decided to shackle the wolf Fenrir, but the beast broke every chain they put upon him. Eventually they had the dwarves make them a magical ribbon called Gleipnir from such items as a woman's beard and a mountain's roots. But Fenrir sensed the gods' deceit and refused to be bound with it unless one of them put his hand in the wolf's mouth. Týr, known for his great courage, agreed, and the other gods bound the wolf. Fenrir sensed that he had been tricked and bit off the god's hand. Fenrir will remain bound until the day of Ragnarök.
As a result of this deed, Týr is called the "Leavings of the Wolf". According to the Prose version of Ragnarök, Týr is destined to kill and be killed by Garm, the guard dog of the Helheim. However, in the two poetic versions of Ragnarök, he goes unmentioned; unless one believes that he is the "Mighty One".
When Thor was born, and became Asgard's protector, Týr left Asgard, and ventured into Midgard. While he still loved by the gods, he was more loved by the mortals of Midgard and they, with the help of the Norse god himself, created a temple in his honor. After making it, he left the Nine Realms and had been returning with relics, artifacts and items of other lands.

Týr plays a prominent role that Ambrogio is seeking the jotnar within Jötunheim. The fallen angel known as Azazel tasks Moka and her friends in stoppign Ambrogio in learning Týr's rune would give access to Týr's Temple where the rune to Jötunheim is located.
Powers & AbilitiesEdit
Immense Strength: As a God, Týr possess great strength that allowed him to physically overpower both Odin and Thor single-handily to allow the frost giants to escape. Týr is more physically stronger then almost all Norse deities in mythology. Týr's strength greatly dwarfs even vampiric strength as if S-Class supermonsters were humans.
Immense Durability: Even after taking a hit from Mjolnir, Týr suffered no visible wound or damages, suggesting his muscle, bone desnity is far greater them Mjolnir.
Combat Empowerment: Týr's physical and magical attributes is enhanced, making him more physicall stronger and magically more powerful, including all related affinit and associated attributes or powers.
Supernatural Combat: Týr, even for a Aesir, demonstrated unnaturally high talent in almost any form of combat. Possibly due to this attribute relating to war. He is able to wield any type of weapon there is, includng Mjolnir or even Caliburn, and he is able to confront and battle any and all gods and beings.
Fear Masking: Týr is able to hide and supress any and all fears he has, being the bravest of the aesir gods in Norse mythology.
Justice Embodiment: Týr is the embodiment of justice in the world, and is capable of brining peace with just justice alone. He is able to sense the injustice of beings, including Gods and also of all justified actions.
Law Inducement: Týr, as the God of Justice & Law, is able to induce law on individual if they commit any form of crime, regardless of locations. He is able to be the judge of Law in courts and trial.
Law Intuition: Týr is naturally knowledgeable of all law/legal systems of the world, includng mythological.
Lie Detection: Týr is able to sense and detect lies.
War Manipulation: As the mighty God of War, Týr s able to manipulate the tides of war and conflict, influencing all within, including mental, physical, spiritual/magcal and even concepts of war.
Master Sorceror: Týr is one of the most well-versed in arcane lore and knowledge. He is able to perform spells on the fly, and is able to perform any form of incantation, gesture and can cancel all forms of magic in existence. As the God of War, Týr's magic is war-like, able to use the energies of war to amplfy his magic to the point one can say Týr is also a God of Magic and can be only rivaled by the All-Father.
